Book Review of the Nick & Tesla Series
The Children’s Book Review

What to Expect: STEM, adventure, interactive science, friendship, teamwork.

Taking after their eccentric Uncle Newt—with whom they went to live after their parents disappeared—twin siblings Nick and Tesla aren’t just kid sleuths; they’re also science experts! They start with the most important mystery of all: what made their parents mysteriously disappear in the first place?

With that solved and their sleuthing skills honed and ready, they take on bigger challenges, going on to solve a series of crimes using their super science and engineering skills. Their determination is unwavering as they engineer a super-cyborg gadget glove to save the sabotaged science museum and the twins. To combat robberies, the twins develop an impressive range of robots. When they discover a spy surveilling their inventor uncle, they counter with a series of homemade spy gadgets. It seems there is very little the twins can’t handle, so long as they have a little bit of time to figure out the science!

The cast of characters is quirky, and the mysteries themselves are just on the right side of implausible to be fun. Nick and Tesla are brainy and determined, but they each have unique strengths that they bring to the table. Readers will see how they learn to work together, leveraging their individual talents, to solve the mysteries the plot throws in their path. Black-and-white artwork illustrates key scenes, breaking up the chapters. A series of try-it-at-home experiments, provided between chapters, encourages readers to get hands-on with science and start building their own STEM sleuthing skills.

Fun, instructive, and interactive, the Nick & Tesla series is not just entertaining but also a valuable tool for demonstrating to children how enjoyable and beneficial science can be.
